Linear PEI is a polymeric amine with a high charge density that allows it to absorb tightly on negatively charged substrates. Linear PEI "Ultra" is PCI's high purity linear polyethylenimine that is available in precisely determined low to moderate molecular weights (Mn = 1kDa–35kDa) with narrow molecular weight distributions (polydispersity ≥ 1.9). Custom molecular weight requests are accepted to provide our customers with the right materials for their research needs. Please read the white paper for more details.
The molecular weight determinations are obtained by GPC analysis (relative to polystyrene standards) and kinematic viscosity data correlated with GPC-LS data. The release of this new product line will enable researchers to utilize well-defined, high quality Linear PEI at competitive prices in molecular weights not previously available.
Linear PEI Ultra is provided in the hydrochloride salt form which adds appreciably to it is molecular weight. The easy to handle hydrochloride salt form can be converted to the free amine form by neutralization with base.
