Polymer Chemistry Innovations Offers Custom Manufacturing of Small Molecules and Specialty Polymers at Newly Constructed Facility

Alvin, Texas – February, 2002 – Polymer Chemistry Innovations (PCI), a leading manufacturer of specialty and custom polymers, has completed construction and begun operations at its new Polymer Chemistry Chocolate Bayou (PCC) custom manufacturing facility on the Chocolate Bayou, 45 miles south of downtown Houston. PCC offers a unique combination of process development and custom synthesis capabilities for both small molecules and polymers. Fully equipped research and analytical labs, pilot plant and large-scale equipment allow PCC to manufacture materials in gram, kilogram and multi-ton quantities.

Hydrogenations, alkylations, condensations and transformations with polar substrates (esters, nitriles, ketones, alcohols, etc.) are some of the small molecule capabilities of the new facility. All major types of polymerizations (free radical, cationic, anionic, step growth and ring opening) are performed at PCC. The company also offers both batch and continuous complex distillation services including multi-component and azeotropic/extractive distillations among others.
