Polymer Chemistry Chocolate Bayou is our large scale specialty chemicals facility located in Alvin, Texas – 35 miles southeast of Houston. This full commercial plant offers a unique combination of process development and custom manufacturing for both small molecules and polymers in large quantities, and is conveniently located in close proximity to producers of key raw materials.

The facility features various high-viscosity stainless steel reactors up to 10,000 gallons, Hastelloy® units that enable work with acid-based products, and a unique distillation tower for ultra-high purity distillations. Our staff can create customized solutions to the challenges involved with synthesizing and processing a variety of specialty materials in addition to monomers and polymers.

Analytical Capabilities

Our analytical capabilities include gas chromatography (GC),
high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), gel permeation chromatography (GPC), infrared (IR), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), mass spectroscopy, viscosities (kinematic, dynamic and intrinsic), titration with Ross Karl Fischer electrode, thermal testing
and mechanical testing.
